Hopes and Dreams on the fundraising trail
Hopes and Dreams Montessori Nursery School managed to raise over £5,000 for Maggie's Centres this year and beat their fundraising target thanks to generous donations from parents, family and friends. Maggie's Centres provide support and advice to anyone affected by cancer and help people live with, through and beyond cancer.
This was the second year in a row that Hopes and Dreams participated in the 20 mile night hike through London. With the record 2,000 participants they had exclusive access to many London sights. The cause was very personal to most of the hikers, and a lot of beautiful messages have been posted on the Hopes and Dreams fundraising web page. Susan Bingham, the managing director of Hopes and Dreams, wrote: "I walk tonight with a great team, we all have our stories... Each step I take for my Matthew." Susan's partner, Matthew Faherty - who has inspired many great projects at the Nursery School since its foundation in 1997 - was sadly beaten by cancer two years ago.
